어떤 의미의 이야기인가 하면, 전반적으로 사진 촬영 결과물에 있어서는 강력하고 다양한 AF와 손떨림 방지 기능을 통해서 선명하고 깔끔한 결과물을 보여주고 있습니다. 하지만 전반적인 소니 카메라의 색감이 카메라에서 보고 있으면 꽤나 괜찮으면서 ‘오! 잘 찍었다’ 생각될 정도로 괜찮고 좋은 색감을 가지고 있지만, 컴퓨터 등으로 옮겨서 보게 되면 다소 사람이 보고 있는 색감보다 어두운 색감을 가지게 되어서 아쉬워지는데.. 엑스페리아 XZ1 역시 이와 동일한 상황이 발생되고 있습니다. 색감에 있어서는 사람마다 취향 차이가 있어 다른 분들과는 생각의 차이가 있을 수 있지만, 제 기준에서는 아쉽게 다가온 부분입니다.
엑스페리아 XZ1은 퀄컴사의 스냅드래곤 835 AP와 4GB의 LPDDR4X 메모리를 사용하고 있습니다. 출시 시점인 2017년 기준으로 4GB 메모리는 평균 수준의 메모리였으며 스냅드래곤 835는 상당히 좋은 성능을 제공해주는 AP 중 하나입니다. 이를 바탕으로 큰 기대감을 가지고 긱벤치 4(긱벤치 5)를 구동 시켜본 결과, 싱글 코어 1911점(385점), 멀티 코어 6606점(1616점), 랜더 스크립트 7828점(Open CL 1879점 / Vulkan 651점)으로 지금 사용하는 데 있어서도 가볍게 사용한다면 큰 부담 없이 사용할 수 있는 성능을 제공합니다.

As we’ve mentioned though, Sony subtly refined its design once again. First off, the Xperia XZ1 is a touch thinner than its predecessor at 7.4 mm (down from 8.1 mm), and it boasts a metal unibody carved from a single piece of aluminum, giving it a strong yet surprisingly lightweight feel in the hand – an improvement over the XZ that came before it.
There are three antenna breakout points on the handset, which appear as three slender bands on the sides of the device. Sony says these improve network connection no matter how you’re holding the phone; in short, there’s less chance your hand will block all the antennas on the Xperia XZ1.

Sony is billed to announce the releases of its two new flagship-grade devices on August 31, at IFA 2017. At least LG’s V30 also has huge bezels(they marketed thin bezels, but I looked at the renders closely and there was 2-3mm of black glass between the screen’s edge and the metal frame, about as much as my old S6E and the most I’ve seen of any flagship recently), possibly even wider than XZ1‘s, yet they still chose to chop off the corners of the screen like those models with screens going all the way to the edge, this is bewildering as otherwise (…and the 4GB RAM too) they would have one of the best flagships on the market, yet now the screen design is highly awkward with the huge bezels and the wasted corners. I’d say Sony would be better off with less top bezels and a shorter phone which IMO looks more sophisticated (a la Passport), but they should keep the boxy signature, I like that. LG’s round for roundness’ sake (chopping off the corners of the screens while there’s no problem fitting them there considering the huge bezels) is epic fail.
Sony has been producing basically the same phones, in terms of design, with minimal tweaks since 2012. No matter the justification, it gets tiresome and old. I had been a Sony (and Sony Ericsson) fan, but the stagnation of their designs made me move on to other brands. Like it or not, looking fashionable/modern is an important part of a cell phone ownership for many people and if Sony wants their poorly performing cell phone division to succeed (or even survive), they have to yield to what’s fashionable and modern. You can cram the latest technology in a cell phone but if it ends up looking like a 10 year old mp3 player like those Sonys do, no one will buy it except die hard Sony fans, and those are not nearly enough to achieve the sales figures Sony needs for its cell phone division to survive.
With a 19MP 1/2.3″ sensor and F2.0 aperture, the phones’ camera specifications are identical to the Premium model. The XZ1 also features the XZ Premium’s headline feature, a slow-motion mode that can record 960fps footage at 720p for a fraction of a second. But more interestingly, the XA1 adds a new 3D-scanning feature that allows for 180 or 360 degree 3D-scanning of faces or objects within just one minute. The results can be used for online avatars, AR-effects or 3D wallpapers, but exportable obj-files also allow for 3D-printing of your scan results.

The first thing you notice when you hold the Xperia XZ1 isn’t how light it is or how premium its build feels. You don’t notice the subtle camera bump on the back or the fact that the phone doesn’t have a dual-camera set-up. You don’t notice the dedicated camera button on the side, or even that the phone’s antenna lines are almost beautiful in their minimalism. Instead, what is immediately apparent is the phone’s 5.2-inch 1080 x 1920 pixel display and giant forehead and chin.
While the XZ1’s internal specs are impressive, Sony hopes that prospective buyers will really be swayed by the XZ1’s camera. Thanks to Sony Motion Eye technology, the XZ1’s 19-megapixel camera is capable of shooting 960 frames-per-second super slow motion; producing crisp images with hybrid burst autofocus; helping photographers capture the perfect moment with 10 frames-per-second predictive capture; and even creating 3D scans of faces, heads, food, and regular objects.
Sony showed off the XZ1’s 3D scanning capabilities, and the company says that users will even be able to upload 3D models into video games — though, that’s a feature the company clarified would not be available at launch. Users will also be able to 3D print the scans they take with the XZ1, but Sony once again specified that it’s still in ongoing talks with its partners regarding the feature.
