3세대 CTS-V는 ATS 및 3세대 CTS에 적용된 플랫폼인 알파 플랫폼을 사용한다. 알파플랫폼이 적용된 3세대 CTS가 출시되면서 시그마 II 플랫폼이 적용된 기존의 2세대 모델보다 경량화를 하면서도 강성을 유지하거나 향상시키기 위하여 가벼운 알루미늄과 마그네슘등의 사용비율을 늘리고 구조용 접착제 사용을 늘렸는데, CTS-V는 여기에 기본형 모델보다 트랙주행시 코너링에서 차체가 받는 스트레스를 이겨내고 충분한 성능을 발휘할 수 있도록 스트럿타워와 엔진 크레이들, 앞쪽 섀시등에 여러개의 브레이스를 추가하고 방화벽을 강화하여 구조적인 강도를 거의 20%정도 향상시켰다.
2009 CTS-V에 사용된 엔진은 OHV 6.2L LSA V8 슈퍼차져 엔진이다. 쉐보레 콜벳 C6 ZR1에서 사용된 LS9 V8엔진을 그 기본으로 하고 있으며 556마력의 최고출력과 76.0 kg·m의 토크를 발생시킨다. 타 경쟁사들에서 전형적으로 럭셔리 퍼포먼스 세단에 DOHC(Dual overhead camshaft)엔진을 적용하는 것과 달리 독특하게 푸쉬로드 엔진이라고도 알려져 있는 오버헤드밸브(OHV : Overhead valve) 디자인을 가진 엔진을 선택했다.엔진은 GM의 멕시코 실라오 엔진 조립공장에서 생산되었다.
2세대 CTS-V의 쿠페형 모델은 2011년식 모델로 처음 출시가 되었으며 2010년 디트로이트에서 개최된 북미국제오토쇼에서 첫 선을 보이게 된다. 세단형과 똑같은 556마력 엔진과 변속기가 제공되었다. 쿠페에서는 세단형 모델과는 달리 중앙쪽으로 위치한 독특한 트윈 배기팁의 형태를 선보이게 되며 선택사양으로 “saffron”인테리어 트림 색상을 선택할 수 있었다. 세단형과 마찬가지로 19인치 알루미늄 휠과 브렘보 브레이크 시스템, 마그네틱 라이드 콘트롤은 기본 사양으로 제공되었다.

The engineering expertise that went into the CTS-V is nearly overwhelming, but the car makes a powerful impression before you even push the start button. The CTS is bigger and roomier than the two generations of CTS that preceded it. The passenger compartment has more space than the RS7, about the same as the E63. The M5 has more passenger and luggage room. The hatchback RS7 has the largest cargo compartment in the group. The Mercedes E63’s trunk is smallest.
The CTS-V uses the new third generation of Magnetic Ride Control. It changes the shocks’ response to changes in road surface and driving, adapting for every inch of the road at 60 m.p.h. Thanks to the newly gained force, the super sedan will run to 62 mph (100 kph) in only three and a half seconds, thus making it just as quick as a Mercedes-AMG E63. With an impressive top speed of 210 mph (338 kph), the CTS-V from GeigerCars is even faster than the 186-mph (300-kph) E63 S. The tuner has also decided to share some interesting fuel consumption numbers, and as you can imagine, the supercharged V8 is quite thirsty: 20 liters / 100 km in the city, but who is going to buy this and care about how much gasoline the engine drinks?
Needless to say, the tuned Cadillac CTS-V is not exactly cheap. It starts off at €97,900 in Germany for the tuner’s own Black Edition, but you will have to pay an additional €14,900 for the customer supercharger and the necessary software tweaks to make it all work together. The styling kit is an extra €1,900 and the tires are going to set you back €1,870. With all the upgrades in place, you’re looking at a car that costs €116,570, so it’s positioned right between the E63 and the E63 S in terms of pricing for the German market.
Using a bespoke 2.9-litre screw-type supercharger in place of the factory unit, along with appropriate software remapping, the GeigerCars engineers extract a whopping 753 hp at 6,350 rpm along with a peak torque of 887 Nm at 4,400 rpm. Thus equipped, the suitably named GeigerCars-Cadillac CTS-V “Compressor 753” catapults the mid-sized Cadillac to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds, and on to an incredible 338 km/h Vmax.
